Acne Scars Makeup

acne scars makeupAcne is a terrible problem that can affect anyone and leaves horrible scars in the place where the acne used to be. Thankfully there are now several procedures that are able to help reduce acne scars and methods that will help you to cover them up using makeup. If you have suffered then you will want to know how to do this which is why I have written this article.

Dermatological procedures

There are several acne scar treatments that work on your skin. These include dermabrasion, skin peels and laser resurfacing. They are all intended for people with serious scarring and can help those with really deep scars. Unfortunately these are quite expensive.

Natural remedies

These remedies are designed to help your acne scars naturally. These treatments can include:

  • Exfoliating with oatmeal
  • Applying vitamin E oil
  • Using citric acid (lemon juice) to remove the dead skin
  • Using aloe vera to reduce the scars appearance.

Medication

You can get topical medication to treat acne scars and these work well on discolored skin. You can buy them over the counter and they usually contain alcohol and bleaching agents.

These methods work well in fading acne scars but only when they are used frequently.

Using the right skincare for you

When you have found a skincare treatment that works for your acne then stick to it. Lots of different products can cause outbreaks or allergic reactions and this can make your acne or the scars look even worse. Maintain your skincare regime and try to stick to it otherwise you have double the amount of work to do when your acne comes back.

2010 Makeup Trends

2010 Makeup TrendsWe all love the new leopard prints that are in fashion now, we are in awe of the safari look that everyone seems to be wearing but what about makeup? It must go through trends as well? Well luckily we now have some gorgeous new makeup trends for 2010 and I’m about to share them with you!

Pink I the key color for makeup trends this year. It has come back onto the models cheeks and into their hearts too. The creamy blusher pinks and the deep picks for the evening look great on everyone.

Pink lips are also the new makeup trends for this year. By adding a pale pink to your lips you can create that English rose look that can suit all skin types and colors. Be sure to keep your makeup to a minimum with this color to keep the look natural.

If you want to go really low key then you can use a lip pencil to coat your lips and then dab a tiny bit of lipstick on underneath. This will look like you’ve tinted your lips and will keep it light. For a more darker look you can add layers of gloss and lipstick together.

Other makeup trends for 2010 include eye gloss. This may sound a little strange but it is essentially lip gloss that goes on your eye lids instead. Again this looks great in pink and can be made to look more elegant with some eye liner. Give your eyes that glamorous look by lining the inner rims of your eyes.

If you want to be in with the crowd, then the makeup trends to keep an eye out for is to keep your face nude and to make your lips strong. A matte finish looks good on your lips. You can swap it round and enhance your eyes instead of your lips and keep them neutral.

If you really don’t know how to change your makeup trends then why not ask the advice of a good makeup artist? They keep themselves up to date with everything makeup related and will be able to help you on your way to create a new look.

The Art Of Applying Makeup

applying makeupJust because you want to create a made up look doesn’t mean that you have to apply loads of makeup! There is an art to applying makeup and here is how to do it so you get a positive and lively image.

Before you even put your makeup on you need to make sure that your skin is clean and moisturized. You should also use sun block throughout the day.

Here are a few applying makeup tips that you can use day and night.

Apply one color of lipstick. Pick a color that suits your skin tone and stick with it. This may take a few attempts to find the right one but it will be worth it in the end. You can use some lip balm to moisturize the area too if you want.

When applying makeup to the eye area, use an eye liner and start in the corner of your eye and work outwards. If your hair color is dark then use a brown eye liner, If you she lighter hair then you can use a light brown. Just remember that you shouldn’t draw a full line from inside to out otherwise it will look odd.

Remember to test the color of your eye liner against your skin before you buy. This will save money and time in the future. The same goes for foundation. Test that on your hand before buying and make sure that you buy one with SPF in it.

If you feel that foundation is a little bit too strong for you then you can go for a tinted moisturizer to cover all the blemishes and marks you may have. Finally add your lipstick and some lip balm over the top if required.

Once you have laid these down then you can finish off your face with some blusher or bronzer. This will help to create that flushed look and will make your cheeks stand out a bit. All of these tips will help you to learn the art of applying makeup and will help you on in future life.

Teen Makeup Tips

teen make-up tipsWhen you first start putting makeup on its surprising how difficult it can be. Lets face it, makeup is an art that takes years of practice (sometimes more). Unfortunately there are some mistakes that teenage makeup wearers often fall into and these can carry on into their early 20′s. Luckily we are here to help and to guide our teenagers into the right way of applying makeup because everyone is allowed to be wrong once or twice (just don’t tell our partners).

Too much shine. Everyone likes a bit of glitz in their lives once and a while but sometimes less is more. With teenage makeup the trends are usually glittery lipstick, glittery eye shadow and glittery everything! The best tip is to limit shine to one area of your face. If you’re putting it on your eyes then don’t put it anywhere else etc. Also try to use powder to soak up any shine that you may have on the rest of your face.

Powder. Powder is a great way of getting an all over teenage makeup look. Its natural without being in your face (so to speak). But putting on too much powder can leave it visible to everyone and make you look like you’ve just walked through a talcum powder factory. Less is more!

Color coordinating. Teenage makeup is usually quite bright and funky so when you get dressed up for a party you feel that you have to go one step further with your makeup. You don’t! If you add more to your makeup then you will look thoroughly over done and will make your face stand out rather than your personality or outfit. If you want to coordinate your colors, go for a similar color to your outfit not the same. This will create a good look and wont make your face stand out.

Highlight the features. When you apply your teenage makeup, don’t try to emphasize everything. Stick to making your eyes pop or your lips sparkle or your cheek bones sharpen. Don’t highlight them all otherwise you will look like Barbie real life sister! If you want to choose heavy eyes, go for a light lip gloss. If you want luscious lips, try a simple eye shadow.

Tanning. No teenager should be using sun beds but the bronzer is also a teenage makeup faux pa. When the rest of your body is pale and your face looks orange in comparison, people will notice and it won’t be for that summer glow either. Learn to love you natural color and have fun finding colors that suit you.

Dark reds. Teenage makeup should not come in deep reds. The innocence and youthful look doesn’t work with deep red and should be avoided! Light reds are OK for special events but for teenagers its best to stick with pale pinks. Go for a quality lipstick that won’t bleed and pencil round your lips before applying.

Touch ups. Wearing teenage makeup requires the odd touch up every now and again. Make sure that you have your makeup bag with you so that you can touch up every few hours. Don’t make a special effort to touch up your makeup (this will make you look super vain) but instead just check yourself in the mirror when you use the bathroom.

Teenage Makeup Tips

teenage makeup tipsWhat is it that teenagers love best? OK other than boys, teenage makeup! Its almost like its in their DNA to love all things girly including makeup so its no surprise that when it comes to their teens, everyone is so different.

There doesn’t seem to be enough tips out there for teenage makeup so I have come up with a little bit of information that will hopefully shed some light on the subject.

Top Tips for Teenage Makeup

Be Bright: No I don’t mean do your homework (although you should), I mean go bright with the colors you choose to wear. This is one of the few ages where you can pull off bright pink lipstick and blue eye shadow so work it!

Hair Do’s: Your hair is one of your best assets and it won’t stay full forever so make the most of it and try a different hair style each week! If you aren’t very confident then ask your hairdresser for advice on what would suit you.

Look Into My Eyes: Teenage makeup is all about the eyes and this is where you can be as creative as you like! You can go classic with black eyeliner and brown eye shadow or you can go crazy with pinks and blues up to your eyebrows!

Eye Lashes: Fake eye lashes are popular at the moment but only when you go to a party or a really special event. You will look downright silly sat in maths with great big spiders hanging off your lashes! Go for a glittery mascara instead and watch as the boys stare at your eyes for hours.

Ears: OK so maybe not for teenage makeup but the ears can carry a lot of weight with teenage jewelry. Long dangly earrings should be saved for best occasions and wacky studs are great for school. Try not to have too many piercings otherwise it will put the boys right off.

Now I know I’m going to sound like a Mom but the best teenage makeup when you are going through your teens is no teenage makeup at all! You are beautiful in your natural form so make the most of not having to wear makeup and just pop a little lip gloss on instead. IT makes all the difference and saves you a fortune on teenage makeup too!
